Job summary

Grant Thornton Ireland is seeking an experienced FAAS Associate Director to lead complex financial reporting engagements for listed and multinational clients across multiple jurisdictions. You will work with Partners and senior finance stakeholders, guiding accounting strategy and ensuring high-quality outputs.

You will mentor a team of senior associates, manage multi-project portfolios, and collaborate across international teams (EMEA, APAC, Americas) while advancing business growth and risk

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with ACA/ACCA/CPA or equivalent.
• 6+ years post-qualified experience in audit or financial reporting.
• Experience in Top 20 practice or advisory firm preferred.
• Strong IFRS and/or US GAAP technical knowledge.
• Proven leadership in managing teams and complex projects.
• Excellent client relationship management and communication skills.
• Strong project management and ability to meet deadlines.
• Commercial awareness and ability to deliver practical solutions.
• Experience with CaseWare and electronic audit packages is an advantage.
• Detail-oriented and committed to quality; self-starter and collaborative.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple client engagements delivering high-quality financial reporting and advisory services.
• Lead and review preparation of complex financial statements (IFRS, FRS 102, US GAAP).
• Advise on technical accounting issues including group restructurings, acquisitions, consolidations, impairment assessments, revenue recognition, and lease accounting.
• Manage project planning and resource allocation with governance and quality.
• Build and maintain client relationships as trusted advisor to finance leaders.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of associates.
• Contribute to business development and client presentations.
• Collaborate across service lines and international teams (EMEA, APAC, Americas).
• Ensure compliance with risk management frameworks and regulatory standards.
• Identify process improvements and innovative solutions.
