Job summary

ICON is seeking a Global Logistics Specialist to optimize and support international logistics for clinical trials. You will coordinate movement of laboratory kits, clinical samples and study materials, ensuring compliant, cost-effective transport across ICON’s global network.

You will work with regional teams, couriers, laboratories and stakeholders to design logistics strategies, monitor performance and drive continuous improvement in service quality, cost and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Strong relevant logistics or supply chain experience.
• Experience in the medical, pharmaceutical, healthcare or life sciences industry is preferred.
• Understanding of international transportation, import/export, and customs requirements.
• Experience working with logistics providers and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills using data to improve performance.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced global environment.
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• A tertiary qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain Management or related discipline is preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and data/reporting tools.
• Willingness to travel approximately 10%.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist logistics support and oversight across global clinical trial studies and sponsor accounts.
• Support study start-up activities, including logistics requirement gathering and courier setup.
• Advise on transportation of clinical samples, lab kits and study materials across domestic and international markets.
• Manage import/export and customs requirements with regional teams and brokers.
• Monitor performance, service levels and trends to identify risks and opportunities for improvement.
• Escalate and resolve complex transportation and logistical issues.
• Build relationships with couriers, providers, laboratories and stakeholders to meet study needs.
• Use performance data to identify trends and develop data-driven recommendations.
• Support sponsor inquiries and client discussions on logistics capabilities and requirements.
• Drive process improvements, standardization and global initiatives.
• Share knowledge with regional teams to strengthen global logistics capabilities.
• Maintain documentation and ensure compliance with ICON procedures and regulations.
