Job summary

LauraLynn, Ireland's Children’s Hospice, seeks a General Operative to support the Facilities Department in maintaining and developing the hospice's physical infrastructure.

You will contribute to planned and reactive maintenance across buildings, ICT, plant, equipment, grounds and vehicles, and help with household, catering, and meeting facilities on site. The role is permanent and full-time, with a strong emphasis on safety, teamwork, and service to a compassionate community.

Qualifications

• Experience in facilities/estate management and safely performing maintenance tasks across mechanical, electrical, plumbing, carpentry and related areas.
• Leaving Certificate or equivalent is required.
• Eligible to work in Ireland.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and develop the physical infrastructure of LauraLynn.
• Oversee planned and reactive maintenance across buildings, ICT, plant, equipment, grounds and vehicles.
• Support household and catering services and help manage meeting and conference facilities on site.

Summary of the role:

The Facilities Department is responsible for the upkeep and development of the physical infrastructure of LauraLynn. The team manages planned and reactive maintenance to all buildings, ICT, plant, equipment, grounds and vehicles. The Facilities Department is also responsible for household and catering services and manages meeting and conference facilities on site.

Essential Criteria - the successful candidate will possess the following:

• Leaving Certificate or equivalent
• Experience of working in facilities/estate management experience and understanding of safely performing and working with mechanical, electrical, plumbing, carpentry and other maintenance task
• Eligible to work in Ireland
