Job summary

Avoca Dunboyne is seeking a part-time horticulture assistant to join our store team. The role focuses on helping customers, providing gardening advice and maintaining garden stock in-store.

Hours are 8 per week with daytime shifts, including some weekend work. Ideal candidates will have plant knowledge, strong timekeeping and a flexible, customer-focused approach to support Avoca’s high standards across our gardens and shops.

Qualifications

• Experience with plants and garden merchandising is required.
• Excellent timekeeping and attendance are required for this role.

Responsibilities

• Assisting customers with enquiries, providing horticultural information and advice on gardening purchases.
• Daily and weekly garden care, including watering, repotting etc.
• Plant Maintenance.
• This role is a manual role and will require manual handling training.
• Maintaining garden supplies in store through internal ordering processes and assisting with deliveries.

The opportunity has arisen to join our team in Avoca Dunboyne Nurseries. These roles are available on a part time basis (8 hours per week) for an immediate start. We are looking for someone who is flexible to work during the week and weekends. This role is based in our Avoca Dunboyne store.

Responsibilities:

• Assisting customers with enquiries, providing horticultural information and advice on gardening purchases.
• Daily and weekly garden care, including watering, repotting etc.
• Plant Maintenance.
• This role is a manual role and will require manual handling training.
• Maintaining garden supplies in store through internal ordering processes and assisting with deliveries.

Key Requirements

• Excellent timekeeping and attendance are required for this role.
• Experience with plants and garden merchandising is required.
• Regular communication is required between you and your line manager in order to maximize efficiency in this role.
• The nature of our business is dependent on customer service, which requires individuals to display flexibility.
• Availability to work both weekdays and weekends is a must.
• A consistent level of quality is required, in keeping with Avoca high standards across all our stores.
