Job summary

Fortis Recruitment is hiring a Fund Controller Analyst for a Dublin-based team of a leading US hedge fund. You will own the month-end close, perform journal entries and reconciliations, and partner with Middle Office, Operations and Investor Relations to drive improvements.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' experience in Finance or Accounting (Public or private accounting).
• Exposure to hedge funds, private equity, or fund administration clients is a plus.
• Entrepreneurial mindset and proactive in spotting opportunities and improving processes.

Responsibilities

• Own the month-end close, including journal entries and reconciliations across multiple legal entities.
• Analyse investment performance and explain whether results reflect alpha or beta.
• Assess results against market conditions and build a view on performance against expectations.
• Reconcile and analyse positions across equities, fixed income, commodities and derivatives.
• Support fund administrators monthly and auditors annually.
• Partner with Middle Office, Operations and Investor Relations.
• Contribute to management reporting and drive process improvement.

• Reconcile and analyse positions across equities, fixed income, commodities and derivatives
• Support fund administrators monthly and auditors annually
• Partner with Middle Office, Operations and Investor Relations
• Contribute to management reporting and drive process improvement across the function

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

• 3+ years' experience in Finance or Accounting: Public or private accounting with hedge fund, private equity, or fund administration client exposure
• Entrepreneurial mindset essential: Needs to be proactive in spotting opportunities and improving processes on own initiative
• Accountability ownership: Comfortable being fully accountable for your entities, not just the tasks within them
• Driven, self-motivated, curious and committed to deepening your understanding of the strategies you cover
• Excellent analytical and communication skills with sharp attention to detail
