Freight Forwarding Branch Manager

Location: Dublin

Salary: €80,000-€90,000 basic plus bonus and car allowance

Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent

The Opportunity

An established global freight forwarding and logistics organisation is looking for an experienced Branch Manager to lead its Dublin operation.

This is a senior leadership position offering full responsibility for the branch, including operational performance, commercial development, profitability, customer service and team leadership.

The successful candidate will inherit an established operation and will be given the autonomy and resources needed to develop the branch further. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced freight forwarding leader who wants genuine ownership, influence and long-term career progression within a financially stable international business.

The Role

As Branch Manager, you will take overall responsibility for the performance and continued growth of the Dublin freight forwarding operation.

You will lead the operational team, maintain high service standards, manage branch profitability and work closely with the commercial function to develop existing accounts and secure new business.

The position requires a commercially aware and hands‑on leader who understands freight forwarding operations and can balance day-to-day management with the strategic development of the branch.

Key Responsibilities
  • Take full responsibility for the performance of the Dublin branch

  • Lead and develop air, ocean and road freight operations

  • Manage branch revenue, profitability, budgets and financial targets

  • Monitor operational performance, productivity and service levels

  • Lead, motivate and develop a high-performing team

  • Recruit and retain talented freight forwarding professionals

  • Identify opportunities to improve systems, processes and efficiency

  • Support the commercial team with customer development and new business

  • Build strong relationships with key customers, suppliers and overseas partners

  • Manage escalations and ensure customer issues are resolved effectively

  • Ensure the branch operates in accordance with company procedures and industry regulations

  • Produce regular performance reports and updates for senior management

  • Develop and implement a clear strategy for sustainable branch growth
