Job summary

O’Neill & Brennan are recruiting a Foreman on behalf of our client, a leading main contractor, to join their Civils project in Galway. The Foreman will supervise site activities, coordinate trades and subcontractors, and ensure works are completed safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.

Reporting to the Site Manager, you will coordinate daily site operations, manage resources and ensure compliance with drawings, specifications and instructions.

Qualifications

• Foreman-level experience in civil engineering or construction.
• Experience supervising site teams and subcontractors.
• Strong health, safety and environmental awareness.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Work with the Site Manager to coordinate daily site activities.
• Supervise operatives, trades and subcontractors to meet programme.
• Ensure drawings and instructions are understood and followed on site.

• Carry out toolbox talks and promote health and safety compliance.

Overview:

O’Neill & Brennan are currently recruiting a Foreman on behalf of our client, a leading main contractor, to join their team on a Civils project in Galway. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising site activities, coordinating trades and subcontractors, and ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work closely with the Site Manager and wider project team to coordinate daily site activities.
• Supervise and coordinate operatives, trades and subcontractors to ensure works are completed to programme.
• Ensure drawings, specifications and instructions are clearly understood and followed on site.
• Coordinate the sequencing of works and ensure resources are effectively managed.
• Carry out toolbox talks and ensure site teams understand health and safety requirements.
• Monitor workmanship and quality, identifying and resolving issues as they arise.
• Maintain accurate site records, daily reports and relevant project documentation.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Relevant trade qualification, construction qualification or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience working as a Foreman within civil engineering or construction.
• Strong experience supervising site teams, subcontractors and operatives.
• Previous experience working on civils projects is essential.
• Good knowledge of construction methods, materials and site operations.
• Strong understanding of Health, Safety and Environmental requirements.
• Excellent communication, organisational and leadership skills.
