• Excellent understanding of construction methods, sequencing, and site logistics.
• Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and best practices.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Full clean driving licence.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Relevant trade background or construction qualification.
• Safe Pass, Manual Handling, and Working at Heights certifications.
• First Aid certification.
• Experience working on large-scale civil or infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate all site-based civil construction activities.
• Manage direct labour, subcontractors, plant, and materials on site.
• Ensure works are carried out in accordance with drawings, specifications, and programme requirements.
• Monitor progress and report updates to the Site Manager and Project Manager.
• Promote and maintain the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance.
• Conduct daily site briefings and toolbox talks.
• Ensure quality control procedures are followed and project milestones are achieved.
• Identify and resolve site issues proactively to maintain project schedules.
• Liaise with engineers, surveyors, clients, and other stakeholders as required.
• Maintain accurate site records, reports, and documentation.

About Bridgewater Construction

Our Client are a leading Irish civil engineering and construction company delivering high-quality infrastructure, residential, commercial, and public sector projects across Ireland. Due to continued growth and a strong project pipeline in Cork, we are seeking an experienced Civil Foreman to join our site management team.

The Role

The Civil Foreman will be responsible for overseeing daily site operations, coordinating site personnel and subcontractors, ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
