Job summary

O’Neill & Brennan are recruiting a Foreman (Civils) for a Civils project in County Cork. DOE ranges from €60k to €70k. You will support the Site Manager, oversee finishing works, and ensure high safety and quality standards on site.

Ideal candidates hold a Construction Management qualification or equivalent, with strong civils experience and groundworks expertise, plus excellent organisation and reporting skills. This is a hands-on leadership role on a Cork project.

Qualifications

• Degree or higher diploma in Construction Management or an equivalent trade qualification.
• Strong experience in civils type construction projects is required.
• Groundworks experience is essential.
• Excellent knowledge of trades and building standards.
• Excellent organisational skills with attention to site paperwork and reporting.
• Ability to meet demanding time and quality targets.

Overview:

O’Neill & Brennan are currently recruiting a Foreman on behalf of our client, to support their team on a Civils project located in County Cork.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support and work in partnership with the Site Manager.
• Oversee all finishing works on site, ensuring top-quality workmanship.
• Carry out daily toolbox talks and ensure clear communication of site safety and work requirements
• Maintain site records, paperwork, and daily site documentation including progress tracking
• Coordinate with tradesmen, subcontractors, and site management to ensure timely completion.
• Conduct regular inspections and quality checks, addressing any defects or issues promptly.
• Manage timelines and work schedules to meet project deadlines.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.
• Liaise with project managers and provide updates on progress.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Degree / Higher Diploma qualification in Construction Management and/ or equivalent trade qualification.
• Strong experience in civils type construction projects required
• Goundworks experience essential
• Excellent knowledge of trades
• Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail, particularly in site paperwork and reporting
• Excellent working knowledge of latest building regulation and certification standards.
• An ability to achieve demanding time and quality targets.
