Job summary

O'Neill & Brennan are recruiting an experienced Groundworks Foreman to oversee external works, paving, groundworks, drainage and more on projects in County Tipperary.

The successful candidate will supervise groundworks activities, coordinate site operatives and subcontractors, and ensure work is completed safely, on programme and to the required standards. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Groundworks Foreman or Civil Foreman on large civil/groundworks projects.
• Strong groundwork operations knowledge including drainage, earthworks, roadworks.
• Excellent understanding of drawings, specs, and project docs.
• Competent in maintaining site records and reporting progress.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate all groundworks activities, ensuring safety, on programme and within budget.
• Lead, motivate, and manage site operatives and subcontractors, assigning daily tasks.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality procedures.
• Liaise with Site Engineers, Site Managers, subcontractors and stakeholders to coordinate activities.
• Monitor labour, plant, and materials to maximise efficiency and report progress.
• Carry out site inspections, toolbox talks, and quality checks against drawings and method statements.
• Maintain accurate site records, including diaries, inspections, permits and progress reports.

Groundworks Foreman - Tipperary
D.O.E: €30 - €37 per hour

O'Neill & Brennan are currently recruiting an experienced Groundworks Foreman on behalf of our client, an established contractor with multiple projects across Ireland. The successful candidate will join their team in County Tipperary, overseeing external works, paving, groundworks, drainage and more.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate all groundworks activities, ensuring works are completed safely, on programme, within budget, and to the required quality standards.


• Lead, motivate, and manage site operatives and subcontractors, allocating daily tasks and monitoring productivity and performance.


• Ensure full compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality procedures, promoting a strong safety culture on site.


• Liaise with Site Engineers, Site Managers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to coordinate activities, resolve site issues, and maintain programme delivery.


• Monitor labour, plant, and material resources to maximise efficiency, reporting progress, delays, and any issues affecting delivery.


• Carry out site inspections, toolbox talks, and quality checks, ensuring work is completed in accordance with project drawings, specifications, and method statements.


• Maintain accurate site records, including daily diaries, inspections, permits, and progress reports.

Qualifications & Experience

• Proven experience as a Groundworks Foreman or Civil Foreman on large-scale civil engineering, infrastructure, or groundworks projects.


• Strong background in groundwork operations including knowledge of drainage, utilities, earthworks, concrete, external works and roadworks.


• Excellent understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and project documentation.


• Competent in maintaining site records and reporting progress.


• Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
