FRS Recruitment seeks an experienced Foreman for a hands-on, site-based role on a commercial fit-out project in Cork City Centre. You will lead trades, coordinate subcontractors, and ensure works meet the programme and quality standards.

The ideal candidate will have a carpentry background, a strong grasp of health and safety, and proven leadership to manage a tight schedule on site.

Foreman Location: Cork City Centre Start Date: 7 September 2026 Project: Commercial Fit-Out We are looking for an experienced Foreman to join our team on a fit-out project in Cork City Centre, commencing 7 September 2026. This is a hands-on site-based role suited to a capable Foreman who can lead a team, coordinate trades and ensure the project is delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard, coming from a carpentry background.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team of trades and site operatives.
• Manage day-to-day activities on site and coordinate subcontractors.
• Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications and programmes.
• Ensure works are completed to the required quality and programme.
• Take a hands-on approach and assist with works where required.
• Maintain high standards of Health & Safety on site.
• Conduct toolbox talks, site inductions and safety checks as required.
• Identify and address site issues promptly.
• Coordinate materials, deliveries and site logistics.
• Liaise with the Site Manager, Project Manager and subcontractors.
• Keep the site organised, clean and professionally managed.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Foreman, ideally on commercial fit-out projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods and site procedures.
• Ability to read and understand construction drawings.
• Good understanding of Health & Safety requirements.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to manage a team while remaining hands‑on.
• Reliable, organised and able to work to tight deadlines.
• Relevant Safe Pass and Manual Handling certification required; additional construction qualifications are an advantage.
