Job summary

The Talbot Hotel Midleton is seeking a Food & Beverage Supervisor to join its busy 4-star team. This full-time, salaried role involves overseeing service in the restaurant, bar and banqueting, with a 39-hour week and flexibility for evenings and weekends.

Reporting to the Food and Beverage Manager and General Manager, you will supervise staff, ensure guest satisfaction, maintain hygiene standards, manage stock and rosters, and respond to guest queries in a professional manner.

Qualifications

• Previous supervisory experience in hospitality preferred.
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends.
• Excellent guest service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the food & beverage service in the restaurant, bar and banqueting with the supervisory team.
• Handle customer queries and resolve issues professionally.
• Check and maintain beverage and wine stock levels regularly.
• Ensure accurate orders are taken and serviced efficiently.
• Provide training to staff on menus, beverages and standards.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness across all areas.
• Assist in rostering and staff scheduling according to business needs.
• Supervise staff on duty to ensure duties are carried out as directed.
• Address guest complaints promptly and notify Management as required.

Job description

The Talbot Hotel Midleton is looking to fill the position of Food & Beverage Supervisor. This is a full time salaried position, with the role rostered for 39 hours per week, working 5 days out of 7, ideal candidates will be flexible with working evenings and weekends in a busy 4 star hotel.

Reporting to the Food and Beverage Manager and the General Manager, you will assist in the smooth and efficient running of the hotel restaurant, bar &/or banqueting departments, to ensure profitable operation whilst complying with Company Standards and ensuring complete guest satisfaction at all times.

Main Duties to include :

• To ensure the smooth management of the food & beverage service in conjunction with the Deputy General Manager and the supervisory team
• Dealing with situations and customer queries as they arise
• Check and ensure adequate beverage and wine stock levels on a regular basis
• Ensure all orders are taken accurately and serviced efficiently.
• To ensure all staff have sufficient knowledge of menus, beverages and service standards and to identify any training needs in relation to these areas, conducting training with staff when required
• To ensure a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness in all areas of the Bar, Restaurant & Banqueting and other related areas
• To ensure the correct set up in the Restaurant, Bar &/or Restaurant prior to service and to ensure the right atmosphere is created
• To assist in the rostering of staff accurately and effectively according to business requirements and to monitor these business levels daily
• Supervise, control and monitor all staff on duty ensuring all duties are being fully carried out in accordance with Company Procedures
• To ensure a high standard of service and attention to detail within the hotel/your department
• Check the main safe at the beginning and end of each shift
• Ensure all floats are accurate before giving to each department
• To maximise staff productivity and encourage staff motivation by helping to create a positive working environment.
• To deal with customer complaints in an efficient and professional manner and to notify Management of these.
