Job summary

Talbot Hotel Stillorgan in Ireland is seeking a Bar Supervisor to deliver friendly and efficient service within the hotel’s food and beverage areas.

You will ensure staff have knowledge of menus and beverages, take orders, coordinate with kitchen and bar, supervise on-duty staff, and maintain high standards of service and guest care. Weekend work is required, with opportunities for growth within a leading hospitality group.

Responsibilities

• Greeting and seating of customers.

• Supervise on-duty staff and ensure duties are carried out per company procedures.
• Maintain high standards of service and attention to detail within the department.
• Respond to guest requests promptly and deliver exceptional service.

Overall Job Purpose

To provide a friendly and efficient service within the food and beverage areas. Role Specific Duties:

• Greeting and seating of customers.
• To ensure all staff have sufficient knowledge of menus, beverages, and service standards and to identify any training needs in relation to these areas.
• Ensure all orders are taken accurately and serviced efficiently.
• To control and monitor all staff on duty ensuring all duties are being fully carried out in accordance with Company Procedures.
• To ensure a high standard of service and attention to detail within the hotel/your department.
• Ensure that all guests' requests and queries are responded to promptly and effectively and an exceptional service is always delivered to guests.
• Be familiar with the menu and as much information about the food and beverage offering available to answer any questions guests may have.
• Take food and beverage orders and ensure that orders are communicated to the kitchen and bar promptly and accurately.
• Ensure that all food and beverage orders are imputed in the tills and are being charged correctly.
• To ensure there are no open checks at the end of the shift.

The successful candidate will have:

• Friendly and professional work attitude;
• Fluent English essential - written and spoken;
• Must be available to work variable shifts;
• Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills;
• Previous experience in a similar role would be a distinct advantage.

The role involves weekend work, so flexibility is required.
