Job summary

Cpl, in partnership with a founder-led Irish consumer products business, seeks an experienced Managing Director to lead commercial and operational performance in the Irish FMCG market. This hands-on role reports to the owner and requires close collaboration with senior leadership to drive growth and profitability.

The MD will manage budgets, forecasts and cash flow, drive sales with major retailers and pharmacy channels, and balance an entrepreneurial culture with scalable structure.

Qualifications

• Significant senior leadership experience in FMCG.
• Deep understanding of the Irish retail landscape.
• Experience dealing with major grocery, retail and pharmacy customers.
• Strong P&L, budgets, forecasting and KPI management.
• Proven ability to lead a founder-led organisation.

Responsibilities

• Take overall responsibility for commercial and operational performance, working with the founder/owner.
• Act as the link between ownership and day-to-day operations, translating priorities into commercial actions.
• Drive sales growth across the Irish FMCG, retail and pharmacy markets.
• Develop senior-level relationships with major Irish retailers and buying groups (e.g., Dunnes Stores, Tesco Ireland, Musgrave, Chemist Warehouse).
• Lead commercial engagements with distributors and strategic customers.
• Provide rigorous financial analysis to guide pricing, costs and profitability decisions.
• Maintain oversight of budgets, forecasts, cash flow and working capital.
• Analyse sales by customer, channel and product to identify opportunities.
• Ensure alignment of sales and operations with clear targets and priorities.
• Identify operational efficiencies to improve margins and scalability.
