Job summary

Musgrave in Limerick is seeking a Floor Supervisor for the MarketPlace to oversee daily department operations and drive performance. You will manage stock levels, implement promotions, and ensure high standards of merchandising and customer service in a fast-paced retail environment.

The role requires 3–5 years in retail/wholesale and 1–2 years of team leadership, with strong knowledge of grocery retail or foodservice markets.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years’ experience within a retail or wholesale department.
  • 1–2 years’ experience leading a team.
  • Strong understanding of grocery retail and/or foodservice markets.

Responsibilities

  • Consistently achieve and improve all operational KPIs (standards, availability, wastage, labour, mystery shopper, etc.).
  • Achieve all Health & Safety, HACCP, and SOP audit requirements.
  • Ensure all areas of the department are merchandised to the highest standards.
  • Execute promotions in line with promotional guidelines.
  • Ensure full compliance with all Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Support the Floor Manager in delivering sales, margin, range, execution, replenishment, picking, and compliance targets.
  • Control waste, markdown, and shrinkage within the department.
  • Build strong, influential relationships with customers to understand and meet their needs.
  • Deliver excellent customer service, focusing on maximising profitable sales and building customer loyalty.
  • Work in partnership with the re-order team to ensure correct stock levels and take responsibility for specific orders where required.
  • Implement effective stock management practices, including date checks and stock rotation.
  • Ensure strict adherence to HACCP requirements and maintain all required records accurately.
  • Monitor and evaluate performance regularly and take appropriate action to achieve results.
  • Build and sustain a high-performing, engaged team through clear direction, stretch targets, and regular performance reviews.
  • Proactively manage underperformance and recognise high performance.
  • Demonstrate Musgrave leadership skills and values, holding self and others accountable for achieving objectives.
  • Support the development and progression of team members to ensure succession within the branch and group.
  • Ensure departments are appropriately resourced to maximise efficiency and productivity in a cost-effective manner.
  • Provide ongoing training and development for all colleagues.
  • Communicate clearly and positively to ensure colleagues understand their role in delivering business objectives.
  • Ensure full compliance with all legislative requirements and company policies relating to Health & Safety, Environmental Health, and food safety.

This role is responsible for the daily operation of the department.
