Job summary

Musgrave Group Plc is seeking a proactive Trading Manager Assistant to join our Trading (Buying) team in Cork. You will provide administrative support to the Trading Manager, manage supplier communications, and assist cross-functional projects with strong organisational and numerical skills.

The role emphasises accuracy in reports, collaboration within a busy trading team, and the ability to work in our hybrid model. We value initiative and reliable delivery.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service orientation with excellent administrative, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook.
• Experience using in-house databases is desirable.
• Previous experience in Trading/Purchasing, Sales or Supply Chain is essential.
• Strong numerical skills.
• Planning and organising skills with ability to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative support to the Trading Manager in day-to-day running of the portfolio.
• Liaise with Suppliers and the trading team to ensure clear communication on projects and deadlines.
• Assist cross-functional initiatives requiring organisation and teamwork in a food trading environment.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date reports using Excel and numerical analysis.
• Work independently and as part of the trading team on varied workloads.

What you'll be doing:

• Providing administrative support to the Trading Manager in the day to day running of the portfolio.
• Liaising with Suppliers for your portfolio and with the wider trading team to ensure clear communication around projects and frequent deadlines.
• Supporting the TM on cross functional initiatives which require strong organisational skills, a team work approach and a passion for food.
• Responsibility for maintaining accurate and up to date reports using Excel and strong numerical skills.
• Working on own initiative with autonomy and as a part of the wider Trading team on a varied workload.

What we are looking for:

• Strong customer service orientation coupled with excellent administrative, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Competency in PC packages (MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
• Experience in using in-house databases is desirable.
• Previous experience in Trading/Purchasing, Sales or Supply Chain is essential for this role
