Job summary

Musgrave in Cork is seeking a Trading Manager Assistant to provide administrative support to the Trading Manager and coordinate with suppliers and the broader trading team. You will maintain accurate reports in Excel, apply strong numerical skills, and help drive cross-functional initiatives with a proactive, team‑oriented approach while working in a hybrid environment.

If you have customer service excellence, MS Office proficiency, and experience in Trading or Supply Chain, you’ll fit right in

Qualifications

• Strong customer service orientation with excellent administrative and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook; experience with in-house databases is a plus.
• Previous trading/purchasing, sales or supply chain experience is essential.
• Strong numerical and data-interpretation skills; ability to meet deadlines.
• Good planning and organisational abilities with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative support to the Trading Manager in the day-to-day running of the portfolio.
• Liaise with Suppliers for your portfolio and with the wider trading team to ensure clear communication around projects and frequent deadlines.
• Support the Trading Manager on cross-functional initiatives which require strong organisational skills, a team work approach and a passion for food.
• Responsibility for maintaining accurate and up-to-date reports using Excel and strong numerical skills.
• Work on own initiative with autonomy and as part of the wider Trading team on a varied workload.

As we continue our journey toward becoming Ireland’s most trusted and sustainable business, we have an exciting opportunity for a successful candidate to join our Trading (Buying) team as a Trading Manager Assistant.

What you'll be doing:

• Providing administrative support to the Trading Manager in the day to day running of the portfolio.
• Liaising with Suppliers for your portfolio and with the wider trading team to ensure clear communication around projects and frequent deadlines.
• Supporting the TM on cross functional initiatives which require strong organisational skills, a team work approach and a passion for food.
• Responsibility for maintaining accurate and up to date reports using Excel and strong numerical skills.
• Working on own initiative with autonomy and as a part of the wider Trading team on a varied workload.

What we are looking for:

• Strong customer service orientation coupled with excellent administrative, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Competency in PC packages (MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
• Experience in using in-house databases is desirable.
• Previous experience in Trading/Purchasing, Sales or Supply Chain is essential for this role
• Strong numerical skills
• Planning and organising skills and an ability to meet deadlines
