Job summary

Xenon Building Technology Ltd is expanding and seeks an experienced Fire & Security Systems Engineer to join our growing team. This field-based role is based from Cork and involves installation, commissioning, servicing, maintenance, repair and upgrade of electronic security and life safety systems nationwide.

The successful candidate will plan and manage work independently, install and fault-find CCTV, access control, intruder alarms, fire alarms and emergency lighting, lead troubleshooting,

Qualifications

• 3–5 years’ experience in Fire & Security industry.
• Experience installing and maintaining CCTV, access control, intruder alarms, fire alarms, and emergency lighting.
• QQI Level 6 or equivalent qualification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and manage work independently with understanding of project and client requirements.
• Install, commission, fault-find, maintain, repair and upgrade electronic security systems.
• Install, service and maintain fire alarm and emergency lighting systems.
• Lead troubleshooting on complex technical issues.
• Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers when required.
• Ensure all work complies with industry standards, health & safety, and company procedures.
• Conduct system demonstrations for clients and provide technical support.

This is a full-time field-based role, based from Cork, with work carried out at client sites nationwide. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, servicing, maintenance, repair, and upgrade of electronic security and life safety systems.

Job Description / Duties

The successful candidate will:

• Plan and manage work independently while ensuring full understanding of project and client requirements
• Install, commission, fault-find, maintain, repair, and upgrade electronic security systems including CCTV, access control systems, and intruder alarms
• Install, commission, service, and maintain fire alarm and emergency lighting systems
• Lead troubleshooting on complex technical issues
• Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers when required
• Ensure all work is completed in compliance with industry standards, health and safety requirements, and company procedures
• Conduct system demonstrations for clients and provide technical support where necessary

Requirements

• Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in the Fire & Security industry
• Proven hands-on experience installing, commissioning, fault finding, maintaining, repairing and/or upgrading CCTV, access control, intruder alarm, fire alarm, and emergency lighting systems
• Electronic Security Systems Qualification or Electrical Craft Certificate (QQI Level 6 or equivalent preferred)
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
