Job summary

BAM UK & Ireland is seeking a Finishing Foreperson to lead finishing works from grey box to practical completion on major construction and civil projects in Ireland. You will coordinate subcontractors, drive quality standards and ensure safe, on-schedule delivery of finishes across multiple trades.

The role requires strong supervisory, documentation and collaboration skills with a focus on quality workmanship and compliance with project specs.

Qualifications

• Experience as Finishing Foreman or Site Foreman on commercial, healthcare, education, residential or public sector projects.
• Proven ability to drive finishing works from grey box to practical completion.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• Commitment to quality, safety and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day finishing activities on site.
• Coordinate and supervise finishing trades and subcontractors.
• Ensure high-quality workmanship and adherence to project specifications.
• Monitor progress against programme and identify potential delays.
• Drive completion of internal and external finishes to milestones.
• Manage and close out snagging and defects promptly.
• Coordinate inspections with clients, design teams and authorities.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental requirements.
• Review drawings and technical submittals to ensure correct delivery.
• Assist in planning commissioning, testing and handover activities.
• Maintain accurate records of progress, quality inspections and workforce attendance.
• Liaise with Site Management, Project Management and Commercial teams to achieve project objectives.
• Support preparation and delivery of O&M manuals and as-built information.

About The Role

The Finishing Foreperson will be responsible for managing all finishing works from grey box stage through to practical completion. The successful candidate will coordinate subcontractors, drive quality standards, manage snagging activities, and ensure all works are completed safely, on programme and to the highest standard.

What do you bring to the role?

Essential Requirements

• Previous experience as a Finishing Foreman, General Foreman or Site Foreman on commercial, healthcare, education, residential or public sector projects.
• Proven track record in delivering projects from grey box stage through to practical completion.
• Strong understanding of construction sequencing and finishing trades.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• Strong focus on quality, safety and customer satisfaction.
• Ability to coordinate multiple subcontractors and manage competing priorities.
• Relevant trade background desirable.
• Safe Pass and Manual Handling certification.
• Full clean driving licence.

Desirable Qualifications

• Experience working with digital QA and snagging systems.
