Amicus are recruiting for Finance Director to lead the finance function of our fast-growing modular construction business. As a pivotal member of the Senior Leadership Team, the Finance Director will act as a key commercial partner to the Managing Director and Group Leadership Team. The core purpose of this role is to drive commercial value-add and provide strategic financial leadership as the business scales from €12M to €25M in revenue over the next year, ensuring sustainable profitability, risk management, and long-term business planning.
The main responsibilities focus on driving financial control, cash conversion, and operational governance across our expanding project portfolio—which already includes 3 major finalized contract wins and 4 high-value projects in the active pipeline. Key deliverables include oversight of construction accounting (WIP, contract profitability, revenue recognition under FRS 102/IFRS 15, claims, and variations), managing treasury and working capital to support rapid scaling, owning budgeting and scenario-based forecasting, and executing commercial contract reviews. Additionally, the Finance Director will optimize systems and processes through Microsoft Business Central, lead financial risk and compliance, and build a high-performing finance function.
The successful candidate will be a CIMA, ACCA, or ACA qualified accountant with 8+ years of post-qualification experience within construction or a project-based environment. You will possess strong technical capabilities in project accounting, working capital management, and financial modeling, combined with hands-on experience using Business Central or equivalent ERP systems. Crucially, you must bring a proven track record of operating at both strategic and operational levels, demonstrating the commercial acumen required to partner with senior leadership and unlock multi-million growth.
