Job summary

FRS Recruitment is assisting an established Irish business to appoint a Financial Controller for a 4-day-per-week, permanent role in Tipperary. You will lead the finance function, own financial reporting, and partner with the MD to drive commercial insight and profitability.

The role requires ACA/ACCA/CIMA and hands-on leadership of day-to-day finance, including budgeting, cash flow, and statutory compliance within a manufacturing/SME context.

Qualifications

• Qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA - essential.
• Strong financial reporting and management accounting capability.
• Excellent business partnering and commercial analysis skills.
• Previous people management experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the finance function and oversee day-to-day financial operations.
• Deliver monthly management accounts and financial reporting.
• Budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
• Cash flow and working capital management.
• Provide commercial analysis around costs, margins and profitability.
• Strengthen financial controls, processes and reporting.
• Oversee AP, AR, GL, fixed assets and payroll.

Financial Controller - Tipperary 4 Days per Week | Permanent I'm partnering with an established and growing Irish business to appoint an experienced Financial Controller on a 4-day-per-week basis. This is a key leadership appointment, reporting directly to the Managing Director and taking ownership of the finance function. It's a hands-on FC role with a strong focus on accurate and timely reporting, commercial insight, cash flow and partnering with the wider business. The Role

• Lead the finance function and oversee day-to-day financial operations
• Deliver monthly management accounts and financial reporting
• Budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis
• Cash flow and working capital management
• Provide commercial analysis around costs, margins and profitability
• Strengthen financial controls, processes and reporting
• Oversee AP, AR, GL, fixed assets and payroll
• Manage statutory compliance, tax and audit
• Partner closely with the MD and management team
• Work with Operations, Production and Sales to support decision-making
• Lead and develop the finance team
• Drive continuous improvement across Finance

What I'm Looking For

Qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA - essential

• Strong Financial Controller / Finance Manager / senior finance experience
• Excellent management accounting and financial reporting capability
• Strong commercial and business partnering skills
• Previous people management experience
• Hands-on approach - comfortable both leading Finance and getting into the detail
• Manufacturing, construction or another operational/production environment would be a strong advantage
• SME experience particularly relevant
