Job summary

HireForce is seeking an experienced Financial Controller in North Dublin to lead the finance function and partner with the MD and senior leadership. This hands-on role suits someone who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial SME with influence over business direction.

You will manage month-end, budgets, cash flow, and financial systems while providing commercial insight for pricing, margins, and retailer negotiations. Strong technical accounting and ERP skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
• 6+ years' post-qualification experience, ideally FMCG/food/beverage or similar fast-moving sector.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge with commercial acumen.
• Experience in an SME/owner-managed business is a strong advantage.
• Proficient in accounting/ERP systems and advanced Excel.
• Self-starter, hands-on yet strategic.

Responsibilities

• Own the day-to-day management of the finance function, including month-end close, management accounts, and statutory reporting.
• Prepare budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections; monitor performance against targets.
• Provide commercial and financial insight to support pricing, margin analysis, and retailer negotiations.
• Manage relationships with banks, auditors, tax advisors, and other external stakeholders.
• Oversee payroll, credit control, accounts payable/receivable, and general ledger functions.
• Ensure compliance with statutory, tax (VAT, Corporation Tax, Revenue), and regulatory requirements.
• Support international expansion with financial oversight across multiple markets/currencies.
• Implement and improve financial controls, systems, and processes as the business scales.
• Contribute to strategic decision-making as a trusted advisor to the MD and Group CFO.
