Job summary

Engage People Recruitment partners with a well-established Irish-owned business to recruit a hands-on Finance Leader who will own the finance function at the centre of the business. Reporting to the Managing Director, you will drive planning, performance, and decision making, and lead a small finance team to enable scalable growth.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly management accounts (P&L, balance sheet and board reporting).
• Deliver cashflow forecasting, margin analysis and commercial insights for decisions.

• Manage audit, banking relationships, payroll and statutory compliance.

Job description

We are partnering with a well-established, Irish-owned business that supplies products and solutions to a broad customer base across commercial and consumer markets nationwide.

This is a hands-on, commercially focused leadership role at the centre of the business.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will take ownership of the finance function while also acting as a key strategic partner to the wider leadership team. You will be heavily involved in decision-making, planning, and driving overall business performance.

This role will suit someone who thrives in a fast-paced, growing environment and wants to have a genuine impact on how a business scales.

You will:

• Lead the preparation of monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet and board reporting
• Deliver cashflow forecasting, margin analysis and commercial insight to support decision-making
• Own the budgeting and forecasting process, ensuring strong cost control and commercial focus
• Partner with senior leadership on financial modelling and strategic planning
• Manage audit, banking relationships, payroll and statutory compliance
• Drive improvements across systems, reporting and processes to support scalability
• Lead and develop a small finance team
• Contribute at board level, supporting commercial strategy and business growth initiatives

Experience:

• Experience in a hands-on finance leadership role within a growing business (SME)
