Job summary

Our client in the energy sector is seeking a Financial Controller to oversee financial management, accounting and reporting. The role includes budgeting, forecasting, and ensuring internal controls.

Hybrid working model in Ireland (2 days in office, 3 days WFH). Salary circa €90k DOE, plus 10% bonus and pension matched up to 5%, with opportunities for rapid career progression.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in financial management or controller role.
• Strong technical accounting skills and up-to-date knowledge of accounting standards.
• Experience in energy/renewables/infrastructure is a plus.
• Excellent analytical, organisational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of financial management including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation.
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain internal controls.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and forecasts and report variances.
• Ensure quality control over financial transactions and reporting.
• Manage local regulatory reporting and tax filings.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes.
• Liaise with auditors to monitor finances.
• Identify and implement process improvements to drive efficiency.
