Job summary

Crown is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join our finance team in Ireland. You will report to the CFO and lead a four-person finance group, guiding monthly reporting, controls and strategic decision-making.

You will own financial planning, treasury, audits and compliance across jurisdictions, while developing a high-performing team and delivering clear, board-ready reporting.

Qualifications

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • Minimum 5 years senior finance experience, ideally in group/finance or financial control.
  • Strong analytical and financial reporting knowledge.
  • Experience leading and developing finance teams.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

  • Support the CFO with the performance and strategic direction of the finance function.
  • Oversee monthly and annual management accounts and financial reporting.
  • Maintain strong financial controls and oversee month-end close processes.
  • Lead the preparation of information for annual external audits.
  • Ensure VAT, tax and other statutory requirements are met across relevant jurisdictions.
  • Lead, mentor and develop a team of four direct reports.
  • Oversee supplier and subcontractor finance processes.
  • Manage day-to-day treasury and banking activities.
  • Prepare and oversee cashflow forecasting and monitor liquidity.
  • Monitor currency positions and FX exposure.
  • Support credit management and customer credit reviews.
  • Drive Finance KPIs and identify opportunities to improve processes and reporting.
  • Support financial planning, forecasting and strategic decision-making.
  • Work with external auditors, tax advisers and other professional advisers.

About the Role

We are looking for an experiencedFinancial Controllerto join our finance team, reporting directly to theChief Financial Officer.

You will play a key role in managing the day-to-day finance function, overseeing financial reporting and controls, supporting the CFO with strategic decision-making and leading a team of four finance professionals.

About You

  • Strong technical accounting and financial reporting knowledge.
  • Experience managing and developing finance team members.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial systems/ERPs.
  • Experience preparing board-level reporting or supporting senior leadership.
  • Strong commercial awareness and understanding of business drivers.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Highly organised, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
