Job description

Company Overview

Your new company is a highly successful, internationally focused engineering and consulting business that has built an outstanding reputation for delivering complex solutions to some of the world's leading industrial organisations. Operating across multiple jurisdictions and supporting clients within manufacturing, life sciences, technology and industrial sectors, the business combines deep technical expertise with a genuinely commercial approach to helping clients improve performance, efficiency and long-term sustainability.

Having experienced significant growth over recent years, the organisation is now entering an exciting new phase of expansion. This growth is underpinned by a culture that values innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement, alongside a commitment to attracting and developing exceptional talent. With a team comprised of highly skilled professionals across technical, operational and commercial disciplines, the business offers an environment where ambitious individuals can make a real impact while working alongside some of the strongest talent in the market.

As a result of continued growth and increasing international activity, the organisation is now seeking to appoint a Financial Controller to join its senior leadership team in Limerick.

The Role

This is a pivotal leadership opportunity for a commercially minded finance professional who wants to play a meaningful role in the future direction of a growing international business. Reporting into senior leadership, you will take overall responsibility for the financial control function while acting as a key business partner across the wider organisation.

The successful candidate will provide strategic financial guidance, ensuring the business continues to operate with strong financial governance, robust controls and high-quality reporting. Beyond the traditional responsibilities of financial control, this role will require an individual capable of translating financial information into meaningful commercial insight, helping leadership teams make informed decisions and supporting the organisation's ambitious growth plans.

You will oversee all aspects of management reporting, budgeting, forecasting, financial planning and analysis while driving continuous improvement initiatives across finance processes, systems and controls. Working closely with operational and commercial stakeholders, you will provide challenge, support and financial guidance to ensure strong decision‑making across the business. You will also play a central role in enhancing reporting capabilities, improving financial visibility and ensuring the finance function remains scalable as the organisation continues to grow both domestically and internationally.

This is a role that will suit a finance leader who enjoys operating beyond the numbers, engaging with stakeholders across the business and contributing directly to both strategic planning and operational performance.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant with strong industry experience gained within a dynamic, commercial environment. You will have developed a reputation as a trusted business partner, capable of combining sound technical expertise with strong commercial judgement and the ability to influence decision‑making at senior level.

You will be someone who enjoys improving processes, challenging existing ways of working and finding opportunities to drive greater efficiency and performance. Equally important will be your ability to communicate effectively across the organisation, building credibility with colleagues while providing clear and insightful financial guidance.

Candidates coming from engineering, consulting, technical services, project‑led, industrial or other high‑growth environments will be particularly well positioned, although strong finance professionals from other sectors who possess the required commercial mindset will also be considered. Experience leading teams, developing people and managing stakeholder relationships will be key, as will a proactive, ambitious and solutions‑focused approach to your work.

Above all, this role requires a finance professional who is comfortable operating in a fast‑paced environment, enjoys working alongside high‑calibre professionals and wants to be part of a business with significant growth ambitions and a strong culture of excellence.

What's On Offer

The position offers a highly competitive remuneration package, flexible working arrangements, strong benefits and genuine long‑term career progression opportunities. Most importantly, it provides the opportunity to become part of a collaborative, ambitious and high‑performing organisation where your contribution will be visible, valued and impactful.

In addition to this, you will have the opportunity to join a highly regarded international organisation at an exciting stage of its development. You will work alongside an exceptionally talented team of professionals, gain exposure to senior decision‑making and play a key role in shaping the future success of the business.

For an ambitious Financial Controller looking to move into a broad leadership role with significant commercial exposure, this represents an outstanding career opportunity within one of the most exciting growth stories in the region.
