Job summary

Abrivia Recruitment Specialists is seeking a qualified Financial Accountant to join an established insurance business in Dublin on a 9-month fixed-term contract. The role involves supporting quarterly and annual financial reporting, regulatory reporting, and year-end processes within a proactive finance team.

You will work closely with the Financial Controller, liaise with external auditors, and contribute to process improvements across the finance function.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent).
• Experience in the insurance industry is essential.
• Strong financial accounting and reporting experience.
• Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office; familiarity with Solvency II would be an advantage.

Financial Accountant – Insurance | 9-Month FTC

Contract: 9-Month Fixed-Term Contract

An opportunity has arisen for a qualified Financial Accountant to join an established insurance business on a 9-month fixed-term contract.

Working closely with the Financial Controller and wider finance team, you will support the delivery of financial and regulatory reporting requirements, while contributing to process improvements and ongoing finance initiatives.

This is a varied position offering exposure to both financial reporting and broader finance activities within a specialist insurance environment.

Your Role

• Support the preparation and delivery of quarterly and annual financial reporting requirements.
• Contribute to regulatory reporting and group reporting activities.
• Liaise with external auditors, coordinating information requests and supporting the year-end audit process.
• Work alongside the Financial Controller to identify opportunities to streamline existing finance processes.
• Assist with the implementation of systems and operational improvements across the finance function.
• Prepare financial information and supporting documentation for senior management and committee reporting.
• Participate in additional finance projects and ad hoc assignments as required.

Your Skills & Experience

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Previous experience working within the insurance industry is essential.
• Strong financial accounting and reporting experience.
• Exposure to Solvency II or other insurance regulatory reporting frameworks would be advantageous.
• Strong Excel skills and proficiency across Microsoft Office.
• Experience working with financial systems, general ledgers and process improvement initiatives would be beneficial.
• Excellent attention to detail, strong analytical skills and the ability to manage competing deadlines.
• Proactive, adaptable and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
