Le Meas Executive Search partners with a well-established insurance organisation for a Financial Accountant on an 18-month maternity-cover contract in Dublin. Reporting to the Head of Finance, the role offers broad exposure to financial reporting, regulatory returns and key finance operations.

The successful candidate will engage with senior stakeholders, auditors, actuaries and external partners to ensure accuracy and compliance across all financial processes.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA).
• Strong Excel and systems capability.
• Detail-oriented with tight reporting deadlines.

Responsabilités

• Lead monthly management accounts, journals and Board/Audit reporting.
• Prepare annual statutory financial statements and support audits.
• Manage Solvency II regulatory reporting and submissions.
• Produce cash-flow forecasts and support budgeting and tax compliance.
• Oversee payroll, pensions, premium collection and commissions.
• Monitor reinsurance, investments, liquidity and counterparty exposures.
• Review third-party deliverables and strengthen financial controls.
• Identify opportunities to improve finance processes and automation.

Le Meas Executive Search have partnered with a well-established, regulated insurance organisation who are seeking a qualified Financial Accountant to join its finance function on an 18-month maternity-cover contract.

Reporting to the Head of Finance, this is a broad and highly visible role with responsibility for financial reporting, regulatory returns, control oversight and key finance operations.

The successful candidate will work closely with senior internal stakeholders, external auditors, actuaries, reinsurers, investment managers and outsourced service providers.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead the preparation and review of monthly management accounts, journals and Board/Audit Committee reporting.
• Prepare annual statutory financial statements and support internal and external audit activity.
• Manage Solvency II regulatory reporting and related regulatory submissions.
• Produce cash-flow forecasts, support the annual budgeting process and contribute to year-end tax compliance.
• Oversee finance operations including payroll, pensions, premium collection, payment authorisations and commissions.
• Monitor reinsurance arrangements, investments, liquidity and counterparty exposures.
• Review third-party administrator deliverables and maintain robust financial-control frameworks.
• Identify opportunities to improve finance processes, controls and automation.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Fully qualified accountant — ACA, ACCA or CIMA.
• Relevant financial-accounting experience within insurance or financial services.
• Solvency II and insurance-sector experience is advantageous.
• Strong Excel and general systems capability.
• Detail-oriented, organised and comfortable working to strict reporting deadlines.
• Strong communication skills and confidence engaging with internal and external stakeholders.
