Job summary

Matrix Recruitment Group is supporting a well-established business in Waterford to appoint an experienced Financial Controller. The role offers the chance to build the finance function from the ground up, partnering with senior leadership to shape strategy and drive growth.

You will own financial management, including month-end close, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and performance analysis, with scope to influence critical commercial decisions and ERP initiatives.

Qualifications

• Professional accounting qualification required (ACA/ACCA/CPA/CIMA).
• Experience as Financial Controller or similar senior finance role with full function responsibility.
• Strong commercial acumen and ability to influence business decisions.

Responsibilities

• Lead the finance function and act as trusted partner to senior leadership.
• Manage month-end and year-end close; prepare management accounts and financial reports.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and cash flow planning with variance analysis and commercial recommendations.
• Develop project costing models; monitor contract profitability and support pricing decisions.
• Establish scalable finance processes, controls and reporting; support ERP implementation.
