Job summary

Veolia Meter Reader position involves traveling within the Kerry region to collect water consumption data using MMR/AMR methods. You will read meters manually or via walk-by and drive-by routes, entering data on handheld devices with GPS navigation.

The role requires a full clean driving licence, good IT skills, and the ability to meet daily targets while maintaining health and safety standards. This is a 12-month fixed term contract, mobile across Kerry.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Full Clean Driving Licence.
• Commercial driving experience preferred.
• Experience with Water Network Management and/or basic plumbing.
• Good IT skills for tablet and GPS use; training provided.
• Strong organisational and route planning abilities.
• Excellent time management to meet deadlines and KPIs.
• High regard for safety in Metering Services.
• Effective communication within a team.

Responsibilities

• Drive along established routes to collect water consumption data.
• Perform manual, walk-by, and drive-by meter readings.
• Use android tablet for navigation and data entry.
• Review routes and plan optimal daily journeys.
• Record issues and capture photographic evidence where needed.
• Upload data regularly for project tracking.
• Report meter irregularities and access issues promptly.
• Coordinate with project manager and service provider.
• Guide customers to relevant support channels for queries.
• Ensure safety and compliance across all tasks.
