Job summary

Uisce Éireann, Ireland’s national water utility, seeks a Metering Field Engineer to join the Water Network Management – Metering Department. Qualifications

• Relevant third level qualification and or accreditation is desirable
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in the water, utilities or similar industries is desirable and or relevant experience
• Experience in independently resolving customer challenges while maintaining high service standards.
• Ability to develop effective partnerships with a wide range of stakeholders and ability to look for and listen to diverse perspectives.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to identify and analyse problems and make improvement decisions that benefit the team/communities.
• Proven track record in identifying opportunities for process improvements and innovation.
• Demonstrate the ability to fix safety issues quickly and look for improvements in line with business strategy

Responsibilities

• Investigate notified issues pertaining to the performance and efficiency of UÉ’s metering stock and ancillary devices
• Undertake meter reading, meter maintenance and ad-hoc meter replacement activities as directed by the Metering Senior Field Engineer within the Region
• Request or raise Work Orders for additional or follow on works by third party regional contractors as required
• In line with standard operating procedures ensure that meters are commissioned and working effectively post replacement
• Support the investigation of customer complaints relating to meter installations as escalated from within the UÉ business
• Liaise with Metering Policies and Commercial team on the design and implementation of meter testing programmes to establish the performance of the meter assets
• Ensure that meters are tested, when requested by the Metering Senior Field Engineer, in accordance with the Customer Handbook
• Undertake risk assessments and establish safe work practices in association with UÉ HSQE
• Attend meter asset management meetings organised by the Water Network Management – Metering Department
• Ensure you are appropriately trained and equipped to undertake your proper functions
