Our client, a global player in providing semiconductor production equipment systems, is seeking 2x Field Service Engineers to join their growing team, onsite at their facility in Kildare.
Reporting to the senior engineer, you will be responsible for providing field service engineering activities to the company's customers on-site. This position troubleshoots more complicated products and problems. As a Field Service Engineer, you will be customer-facing and on-site, ensuring all products/equipment are maintained. Flexibility to work shift is essential. We have 2 shifts available (Monday to Friday/ 4 on 4 off).
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Managing service calls and determining customer needs or problems, and responding accordingly.
- Providing over-the-phone consultation and advice to the customer, may need to respond to emergency customer situations or may need to schedule and repair the Company?s products at the customer's site.
- Performing preventative maintenance on Company products.
- Establishing and managing a local maintenance service structure.
- Inspecting and evaluating customer usage of Company products.
- Providing training to customers in the usage and maintenance of Company products.
- Providing application support on the Company's products to customers.
- Liaising between the customer and the applications programmer for customer requests involving changes in applications.
- Ability to research market needs and customer applications of company products.
- Submitting application reports to management in a timely manner.
- Supporting sales activities and establishing and maintaining good relationships with customers.
- Providing training to other Company field service engineers as needed.
- Submitting various reports, such as service reports, weekly reports, and expense reports to management on time.
- Responsible for maintaining company parts and tools and ensuring downtimes are at a minimum.
- Effectively communicating with head office engineers regarding product applications and technical issues.
- Maintaining high ethical standards in the workplace and complying with all company policies and procedures.
Qualifying Criteria:
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Optical Engineering/Electronics Engineering/Computer Science.
- One with 3-5 years experience and one with 5-7 years experience working as an FSE in the Semiconductor Industry.
- Experience in troubleshooting/repair of optics/laser, and any mechanical under-vacuum environment experience.
- Eligibility to travel overseas on occasion (travel to Japan for training up to 3 months).
- Excellent communication skills and solution-focused attitude.
