Job summary

Kokusai Semiconductor Europe GmbH is seeking an experienced Installation / Field Service Engineer to support semiconductor manufacturing equipment at customer sites in Ireland and across Europe. The role focuses on installation, commissioning, maintenance and troubleshooting of complex equipment, with regular travel to Europe, the US, and affiliates as required.

Qualifications

• NFQ Level 7+ in a relevant engineering discipline is preferred, or NFQ Level 6 with substantial technical/semiconductor experience.
• Experience with semiconductor equipment, especially vertical diffusion furnaces, is advantageous.
• Experience working in a cleanroom manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, electrical schematics and technical documentation.
• Strong safety and quality focus with practical hands-on engineering capability.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission and sustain Kokusai semiconductor equipment at customer sites.
• Support start-up, testing, qualification and handover to the customer.
• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and process equipment issues.
• Assist with equipment upgrades, conversions and modifications as required.
• Monitor installation and service activities against schedule and flag risks or delays.
• Collaborate with customer engineering and facilities teams during service activities.
• Complete service reports, installation documentation and technical records accurately and on time.
• Maintain safety, quality and compliance with procedures.
• Travel to customer sites internationally as required.

Job description

Kokusai Semiconductor Europe is seeking an experienced Installation / Field Service Engineer to support semiconductor manufacturing equipment at customer sites in Ireland and across Europe.

The role will primarily involve installation, commissioning, maintenance and troubleshooting of complex semiconductor equipment. The engineer will work closely with customers, other Field Service Engineers and technical teams in Europe.

The position will be based in Ireland, with regular work at customer semiconductor manufacturing sites and some travel to other European locations, US and other affiliates, depending on project and training requirements.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Installation, commissioning and sustaining of Kokusai semiconductor manufacturing equipment at customer sites.

• Maintain a strong focus on safety, quality and compliance with both Kokusai and customer procedures.
• Travel to customer sites internationally as required.

Qualifications & Experience

• NFQ Level 7 or higher in a relevant engineering discipline preferred, or NFQ Level 6 with significant relevant technical or semiconductor experience
• Previous experience working with semiconductor equipment, particularly vertical diffusion furnaces would be a strong advantage.
• Comfortable working in a cleanroom manufacturing environment.
• Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics and technical documentation.
• Good practical and hands-on engineering capability with a strong focus on safety and quality.
• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work both independently and as part of an international team.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Valid driving license and willingness to travel in Europe and internationally.
