Job summary

Collins McNicholas Group is seeking a Field Service Engineer to install, maintain, and repair filtration, drying, and separation equipment for leading pharmaceutical and chemical manufacturers.

The role is hands-on and customer-facing, requiring travel across Ireland, the UK and Europe, with on-site support, fault finding, and training delivery as part of a skilled service team.

Qualifications

• Qualified mechanical fitter/technician or service engineer.
• Experience with gearboxes, seals, agitators, pumps or drive systems.
• Full driver’s license and willingness to travel internationally.
• Able to work independently in field-based environments.
• Excellent communication and customer-facing skills.

Responsibilities

• Install, test, and commission industrial filtration and drying systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance, breakdown repairs and overhauls.
• Conduct fault finding and diagnostics on rotating equipment.
• Carry out SATs, upgrades and system improvements.
• Produce service reports and technical documentation.
• Provide spare parts advice and after-sales support.
• Build strong customer relationships and deliver training on-site.
• Collaborate with internal engineering and service teams.

Job description

We are seeking a Field Service Engineer to install, maintain, and repair filtration, drying, and separation equipment.

This is a hands-on, customer-facing role supporting leading pharmaceutical and chemical manufacturing clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, test, and commission industrial filtration and drying systems
• Perform preventive maintenance, breakdown repairs, and mechanical overhauls
• Conduct fault finding and diagnostics on rotating equipment
• Carry out Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), upgrades, and system improvements
• Produce detailed service reports, risk assessments, and technical documentation
• Provide technical support, spare parts advice, and after-sales service
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships
• Deliver on-site customer training where required
• Liaise with internal engineering and service teams to ensure high-quality delivery

Education/Experience

• Qualified Mechanical Fitter / Mechanical Technician / Service Engineer (or equivalent)
• Experience with gearboxes, seals, agitators, pumps, or drive systems
• Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding skills
• Ability to work independently in field-based environments
• Excellent communication and customer-facing skills
• Full driver?s licence and willingness to travel internationally

Desirable Experience

• Background in pharmaceutical, chemical, or process industries
• Experience working in regulated or GMP environments
