Job summary

Control Recruitment Solutions Ltd is seeking Field Service Engineers to cover Ireland. The role involves service, maintenance, installations, upgrades, and occasional breakdowns for packaging machinery. Travel is required, with Ireland/Europe work occasionally; a couple of nights away per month is common.

You will read schematics, fault-find and repair, educate customers on use and maintenance, and work across multiple packaging lines. Training and a friendly culture support progression.

Qualifications

• Multiskilled maintenance or service experience.
• Experience uploading/downloading software to PLCs, HMIs, and control systems.
• Flexible to travel and stay away from home - some Ireland/European travel.
• Health & safety awareness; proactive and communicative.

Responsibilities

• Service, maintenance, installations, upgrades and occasional breakdowns for packaging machinery.
• Read mechanical/electrical drawings, fault finding, diagnostics, and repair.
• Educate customers on use and maintenance.
• Work across slicing/processing, thermoforming or end-of-line packaging machinery.
• Operate on equipment like checkweighers, scanners, autoloaders, sealers and labellers.

Field Service Engineers

Location Ireland - ideally with reasonable road / motorway links

Salary Negotiable + car + overtime + private health care + 10 - 15% bonus + pension + 33 days holiday + training + credit card, fuel card, expenses, allowances

Hours Monday to Friday (weekend work / overtime available if desired)

The Job:

• Varied work including service, maintenance, installations, upgrades and occasional breakdowns for packaging machinery.
• Read mechanical and electrical drawings / schematics, fault finding, diagnostics, repair, installations.
• Educate customers on use and maintenance.
• Different roles available typically in 3 areas; can be working on slicing and processing machinery, thermoforming machinery or end of line packaging machinery.
• Machinery such as checkweighers, scanners, autoloaders, metal detectors, X-ray inspection, pack validation vision systems, sealing machinery, seal integrity systems, automated boxing and sleeving systems, labellers, end of line inspection and automation systems.

The Person:

• Multiskilled maintenance or service experience.
• Experience in uploading and downloading software to machine components, PLCs, HMIs, control systems, pneumatics.
• Flexible to travel and stay away from home - a couple to a few nights per month on average. Ireland or European work available occasionally.
• Health & safety and hygiene focused, friendly, proactive, good communication, desire to learn and improve.
