Job summary

BALERS FOR SALE OR RENT LIMITED is seeking a Field Service Technician to join our Service Team. The role involves travelling nationwide to install, service and repair machinery used in the recycling industry, including balers and compactors.

You will diagnose faults, service equipment, install new systems and provide reports to customers. Ideal candidates have hands-on experience, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Qualifications

• Experience as Field Service Technician preferred.
• Electrical, mechanical or hydraulic experience an advantage.
• Valid Irish B driving licence and Safe Pass are required.
• Must have permits/authorisation to work in Ireland and be 25+ for vehicle insurance.

Responsibilities

• Service and repair existing equipment in the field.
• Install and commission new/refurbished machinery nationwide.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults and resolve them.
• Provide accurate daily service and job reports to the team.
• Train machinery operators on safe and correct use of equipment.

What you will be doing:

• Servicing and repairing existing equipment


• Installing and commissioning new and refurbished machinery nationwide


• Diagnosing and resolving mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults


• Working as part of a team to resolve issues quickly and efficiently


• Providing accurate daily service and job reports


• Working with electronic and mechanical equipment


• Providing a prompt, professional service to customers


• Training machinery operators on the safe and correct use of equipment

What we are looking for:

• Experience in a similar Field Service Technician role is a strong advantage


• Electrical, mechanical and/or hydraulic experience is an advantage


• Good problem-solving and fault-finding skills


• A practical, hands-on approach


• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team


• Someone who takes pride in their work and strives to get the job right every time


• Good computer skills


• Full clean Irish B driving licence


• Safe Pass


• Good command of the English language


• Must have the necessary permits and authorisation to work in Ireland


• Must be 25 years or older for company vehicle insurance purposes
