Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate training, motivation, discipline, and supervision of Banquet Department staff.
• Deliver exceptional service for weddings, conferences, gala dinners and private events.
• Manage day-to-day staffing, plan workloads, and set performance goals with coaching and feedback.
• Coordinate with Banquet Chef to set up and service contracted functions across outlets.
• Attend Event/HOD meetings to learn about upcoming functions.
• Set quality and guest-satisfaction targets; respond to questions or complaints promptly.
• Post function sheets and instruct staff to ensure successful events.

Job description

Glenlo Abbey Hotel and Estate located on the banks of Lough Corrib on a 138-acre estate with the original 18th century manor house dating back to the 1740's.

Is currently recruiting for an Events Operations Manager.

The Hotel comprises of 73 bedrooms, 11 Luxury Self-Catering Lodges, Corrib Room (catering for meetings, events, and weddings for up to 160 guests), River Room Restaurant, Palmers Bar and Kitchen, Pullman Restaurant (1 Michelin star), Glo Spa & Wellness, a 9 Hole Christy O'Connor Jr designed Championship Golf course and Trackman 21 bay driving range.

About The Role

• Oversee and co ordinate the training, motivating, discipline, direct and supervise the work of the employees in the Banquet Department.
• Deliver exceptional service for weddings, conferences, gala dinners and private events.
• Manage day-to-day staffing requirements, plan and assign work, and establish performance and development goals for team members. Provide mentoring, coaching and regular feedback to help manage conflict and improve team member performance.
• Oversee the actual set-up and service of contracted functions in various outlets by coordinating with the Banquet Chef and by assigning functions to the team to insure their success.
• Attend regular Event/HOD meetings to obtain information of the upcoming contracted functions.
• Establish and achieve quality and guest satisfaction goals. Respond in a courteous and prompt manner to all guest questions, complaints and/or requests to ensure a high level of guest satisfaction.
• Post all contracted function sheets and give instructions to staff to insure the success of the function
• Assist is other outlets and areas related to F&B when and where required.
