Job summary

DFDS UK & Ireland is seeking a Transport Planner to join our busy trailer operation across Ireland and Europe. You will coordinate routes and loads, ensure on-time deliveries, and work closely with drivers, subcontractors and internal teams to keep operations running smoothly.

You’ll have proven experience in transport planning, be comfortable using Excel and Word, and understand Irish and European vehicle safety regulations.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in transport planning or a similar logistics environment.
• Strong knowledge of Ireland/Europe geography and regulations.
• Proficient with Excel and Word; comfortable with data systems.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate routes and loads across multiple departments.
• Manage transport documentation and compliance with regulations.
• Coordinate drivers, subcontractors and bookings; liaise with vessel operators.
• Monitor performance and provide KPI reports to customers and management.
• Identify and resolve operational issues to improve processes and cost efficiency.
