Job summary

Clark in Rathcoole, Co. Dublin, is seeking an experienced Domestic Transport Planner to join our central operations team. • Experience in transport planning, logistics or distribution.
• Knowledge of Ireland geography and road network.
• Experience with palletised or domestic distribution is advantageous.

• Strong organisational and time-management abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail and communication.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate daily domestic pallet deliveries and collections.
• Arrange movement of customer products to and from company sites.
• Ensure transport is planned efficiently and cost-effectively.
• Coordinate delivery schedules and respond to changes or exceptions.
• Liaise with customers, transport providers and internal warehouse teams.
• Process transport bookings and maintain accurate system records.
• Produce and distribute operational and performance reports.
• Monitor deliveries and resolve any issues that arise.
• Maintain high standards of customer service and operational accuracy.
• Follow SOPs and transport planning procedures.
• Support the wider operations team and ongoing projects when required.

My client is a well-established and growing logistics provider currently looking for an experienced Domestic Transport Planner to join their central operations team in Rathcoole.

This is a key role within the domestic distribution operation, coordinating the movement of palletised goods for customers whose products are stored within the company's warehouse network.

Unlike a traditional freight planning environment, this role focuses on planned domestic movements between the company's sites and customers, providing a more structured and consistent transport operation.

The Role

You will be responsible for planning and coordinating the movement of customer stock to and from company sites across Ireland, ensuring deliveries are completed efficiently, accurately and within agreed customer requirements.

Strong knowledge of the Irish road network and geography is important, along with good organisational and communication skills.

You will work as part of an established team of 12 Transport Planners, supporting the wider operations function and working closely with internal teams, customers and transport partners.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate daily domestic pallet deliveries and collections
• Arrange the movement of customer products to and from company sites
• Ensure transport is planned efficiently and cost-effectively
• Coordinate delivery schedules and respond to any changes or exceptions
• Liaise with customers, transport providers and internal warehouse teams
• Process transport bookings and maintain accurate system records
• Ensure all relevant files, billing and costing are completed accurately
• Produce and distribute operational and performance reports
• Monitor deliveries and resolve any issues that arise
• Maintain high standards of customer service and operational accuracy
• Follow company SOPs and transport planning procedures
• Support the wider operations team and ongoing projects when required

What We’re Looking For

• Previous experience in transport planning, logistics or distribution
• Strong knowledge of Ireland’s geography and road network
• Experience working with palletised or domestic distribution is advantageous
• Good IT and systems skills, including Microsoft Excel
• Strong organisational and time-management skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Good numerical and analytical ability
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• A reliable, proactive and team-focused approach
