Job summary

Primark is seeking Head of Construction - Europe to lead the strategy and delivery of its European expansion and capex across multiple markets. You will own a complex multi-country portfolio of new stores, relocations and refits while partnering with Property, Design and Operations to shape delivery roadmaps.

As a senior leader, you will build and mentor a high-performing team, drive safety and compliance, and ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to brand standards,

Qualifications

• Significant senior leadership experience (10+ years) in construction delivery across multi-site, multi-country environments.
• Proven track record delivering large-scale construction programmes, including new builds, refurbishments and major capital investments.
• Strong strategic capability balancing long-term planning, portfolio management and operational execution across multiple markets.
• Extensive experience managing contractors, consultant teams, supply chains and complex stakeholder environments.
• Deep understanding of construction delivery, on-site operations, regulatory compliance and lifecycle management.
• Demonstrated success in building and leading high-performing teams with clear accountability and commercial outcomes.
• Strong influencing and stakeholder management skills at executive and senior leadership level.
• Commercially astute leader driving cost efficiency and continuous improvement while maintaining delivery discipline.

Responsibilities

• Lead the construction strategy and delivery of Primark's European expansion and investment programme, ensuring projects are safe, on time, within budget and to brand standards.
• Own a complex multi-country portfolio of new stores, relocations and refits, driving consistency, scalability and operational excellence across markets.
• Partner with Property, Design and Operations to shape delivery strategies, programme priorities and long-term roadmaps.
• Lead construction governance across Europe, ensuring compliance with designs, technical requirements, regulatory standards and risk management frameworks.
• Champion a zero-compromise safety culture across all projects.
• Own construction capex across Europe, ensuring strong commercial performance and value engineering without quality compromise.
• Develop and manage a high-performing European construction supply chain with strategic partners.
• Build, lead and mentor a high-performing construction team, creating accountability and influencing stakeholders at all levels.
