Job summary

Zircoe Recruitment is partnering with a growing Fire Protection business in Dublin to recruit an experienced Estimator. The role focuses on preparing accurate estimates, supporting tender submissions, and assisting with commercial evaluation from initial enquiry through to contract award.

The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years' Estimator experience in Fire Protection, M&E or Building Services, with strong cost analysis, Excel skills and the ability to manage multiple tenders to tight deadlines.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years' experience as an Estimator within Construction, Fire Protection, M&E or Building Services.
• Strong analytical and commercial awareness with ability to interpret drawings and specifications.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite; capable of cost planning and value engineering.

The Opportunity

Zircoe Recruitment is partnering with a growing Fire Protection business to recruit an experienced Estimator to join their Dublin team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an Estimator with a background in Fire Protection, Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) or Building Services to take the next step in their career.

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive estimates, supporting tender submissions and assisting with the commercial evaluation of projects from initial enquiry through to contract award.

We're also interested in speaking with Quantity Surveyors looking to move into an Estimating role, particularly those with experience in technical building services or specialist contracting.

Previous experience within the Mechanical and/or Electrical sector would be highly advantageous, while knowledge of Mechanical Services would also be beneficial.

• Review tender documentation, drawings, specifications and project requirements.


• Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for Fire Protection projects.


• Carry out quantity and material take-offs from drawings and specifications.


• Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations.


• Assess project risks, opportunities and potential cost-saving measures.


• Prepare tender submissions and supporting commercial documentation.


• Attend tender review meetings and client discussions where required.


• Maintain estimating databases, pricing schedules and historical cost information.


• Support value engineering exercises and alternative design proposals.


• Liaise with design teams, project managers, suppliers and subcontractors throughout the tender process.


• Assist with the preparation of budgets and cost plans for prospective projects.


• Ensure estimates are completed accurately and within required deadlines.


• Work closely with the Senior Estimator, Project Managers, Engineers and Site Teams.


• Support project handovers from tender stage through to project delivery.


• Assist with budget preparation and project cost forecasting.


• Provide technical and commercial input during project reviews.


• Ensure compliance with company procedures, quality standards and Health & Safety requirements.

The ideal candidate will be commercially minded, analytical and technically capable, with experience estimating within Fire Protection, M&E or Building Services.

We're looking for someone who can confidently interpret technical information, build accurate estimates and manage multiple tenders while working to tight deadlines.

• 2-5 years' experience as an Estimator within Construction, Fire Protection, M&E or Building Services.


• Experience with Fire Protection systems and/or associated Mechanical Services would be advantageous.


• Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications and tender documentation.


• Strong commercial awareness and cost analysis skills.


• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.


• Excellent communication, organisational and analytical skills.


• Ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously and work to strict deadlines.


• Degree, diploma or trade qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.


• Experience working with sprinkler contractors or specialist Fire Protection companies.


• Previous experience estimating Mechanical, Electrical or M&E packages.


• Quantity Surveying experience with an interest in progressing into Estimating.
