Job summary

Jones Engineering in Ireland's Damastown office is seeking a Mechanical/Fire Protection Estimator to join our Fire Protection Division. You will manage tendering for large-scale projects across Ireland, the UK and Europe, handling the full tender process from start to finish.

The role requires a solid understanding of mechanical equipment and materials, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work under tight deadlines.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years’ experience in a similar estimator role.
• Relevant degree qualification.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under strict deadlines.
• Excellent communication and time management skills.
• Analytical mindset with negotiation skills and use of historical data.

Responsibilities

• Tendering large-scale projects in Ireland, the UK & across Europe.
• Involvement in full tender process from start to finish.
• Review tender documents, drawings, specifications, schedules, etc.
• Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors and relevant parties.
• Evaluate, analyse and validate supplier and subcontractor quotations.
• Issue tender RFIs and review client responses with Estimating Team.
• Prepare tender reviews and progress reports for evaluation with Group Estimating Manager.
• Handover final estimates to Group Estimating Manager and Director.
• Attend meetings and site visits as required.

Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a Mechanical/Fire Protection Estimator to join our team in the Damastown office. This position is within our Fire Protection Division. While prior knowledge of fire protection systems is not required, a solid understanding of mechanical equipment, materials, and related processes is essential.

• Tendering a variety of large-scale projects in Ireland, UK & across Europe.
• Involvement in full tender process from beginning to completion.
• Conduct in-depth reviews of tender documents, drawings, specifications, schedules etc.
• Liaising with relevant parties/supplies/subcontractors.
• Evaluate, analyse & validate supplier and sub-contractor quotations.
• Issue tender RFIs and review client response with Estimating Team.
• Prepare tender review & progress reports for evaluation with Group Estimating Manager.
