Job summary

Jones Engineering in Maynooth is seeking a Mechanical Estimator to join our fire protection division, with flexible hybrid working and occasional travel. The role focuses on tendering large-scale projects across Ireland, the UK and Europe, evaluating mechanical equipment, materials and processes.

You should have a relevant degree and 3-5 years’ experience, with strong attention to detail, excellent communication and time management, plus proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets.

Responsibilities

• Tendering a variety of large-scale projects in Ireland, UK & across Europe.
• Involvement in full tender process from beginning to completion.
• Conduct in-dept reviews of tender documents, drawings, specifications, schedules etc.
• Liaising with relevant parties/supplies/subcontractors.
• Evaluate, analyse & validate supplier and sub-contractor quotations.
• Issue tender RFIs and review client response with Estimating Team.
• Prepare tender review & progress reports for evaluation with Group Estimating Manager.
• Handover of final estimates to Group Estimating Manager & Director.
• Attend meetings and site visits are when required.

Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Estimator to be based in our Maynooth office, with an option of Hybrid work dependant on the suitability of the candidate, some travel may be required. This position is within the fire protection division, knowledge of fire protection systems is not necessary, but a good understanding of mechanical equipment, materials, processes, materials etc. is important.
