Frey Consulting Group seeks an Estimation Manager to lead the pre-construction team for HVAC/building services projects across Leinster. You will manage Estimators and CAD Engineers, oversee tendering and costing, and guide the team from early design through submission.

THE COMPANY:

Our client is a leading provider of HVAC and building services solutions, delivering projects across commercial, industrial, pharmaceutical, healthcare and mission-critical environments throughout Ireland.

Due to continued growth and an expanding project portfolio, they are seeking an Estimation Manager to lead their pre-construction team and support the ongoing growth of the business.

THE ROLE:

The successful Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for managing the estimating and CAD function, ensuring tenders are delivered accurately, competitively and on time while supporting project success from the earliest stages.

This is a people management role focused on leadership, planning and coordination rather than solely carrying out estimates. You will oversee resources, mentor team members and work closely with senior leadership to support business growth and operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing and developing a team of Estimators and CAD Engineers
• Allocating resources and managing workloads across multiple tenders and projects
• Reviewing tender documentation, drawings and project specifications
• Overseeing estimating, costing and proposal preparation activities
• Ensuring technical and commercial accuracy across submissions
• Supporting pricing strategy and tender competitiveness
• Managing relationships with suppliers, consultants and subcontractors
• Driving continuous improvement within the estimating and design function
• Coaching, mentoring and developing team members
• Supporting recruitment and team growth as required
• Working closely with senior management on project selection and commercial strategy
• Managing the successful handover of projects to delivery teams

THE PERSON:

We are looking to speak with candidates who have experience within HVAC, Mechanical Building Services, M&E Contracting, Construction or Engineering environments.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience managing Estimators, Design Engineers, CAD Technicians or Pre-Construction teams
• Strong understanding of HVAC and mechanical building services projects
• Experience overseeing tendering and estimation activities
• Leadership experience with the ability to coach and develop teams
• Strong commercial awareness and financial understanding
• Excellent organisational and workload planning skills
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• Experience reviewing technical drawings and specifications
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
