Job summary

NexVentur is recruiting an Estimator in Cavan to join an established Irish building and civil engineering contractor. You will prepare, price and submit tenders across a varied portfolio of projects, working with the commercial team to support pre-construction activities.

Qualifications

• Experience in an estimating role within construction.
• Strong understanding of costs, materials and subcontractor pricing.
• Ability to read drawings and specifications.
• Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
• Attention to detail and a methodical approach.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work independently and within a wider commercial team.
• Qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, Engineering or related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed and accurate estimates for construction projects.
• Review tender documentation, drawings, specifications and scopes of work.
• Prepare Bills of Quantities, pricing schedules and tender documentation.
• Obtain and analyse quotations from subcontractors and suppliers.
• Price labour, materials, plant and subcontract packages.
• Identify commercial risks, exclusions and opportunities within tenders.
• Prepare tender submissions and supporting documentation.
• Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, consultants and project teams.
• Review design information and assess impact of changes on project costs.
• Maintain accurate tender records and cost information.
• Support the commercial team with pre-construction activities.
• Ensure tenders are prepared and submitted accurately and within deadlines.
