Job summary

Mastercard is seeking a technically strong Manager, Software Engineering to lead a global team responsible for designing, building, and operating full stack applications, APIs, and data processing services within BE&O. You will balance people leadership with technical direction to deliver scalable, enterprise-grade software.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, including hands-on production delivery in an agile environment.
• 3+ years of experience leading software engineers with coaching and performance management.
• Strong technical leadership with architecture discussions, design reviews, and delivery of complex initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Build, lead, and develop a high performing team of software engineers through hiring, onboarding, coaching, mentoring, performance management, career development, and succession planning.
• Foster an inclusive and collaborative engineering culture centered on ownership, accountability, continuous learning, innovation, and engineering excellence.
• Lead the delivery of complex software initiatives from planning through release, ensuring clear priorities, effective execution, and high quality outcomes.
• Partner with Product and business stakeholders to translate business priorities into technical strategy, delivery plans, and milestones.
• Provide technical leadership through architecture discussions, reviews, and hands-on execution when needed.
• Guide design and development of scalable, secure, reliable, and maintainable solutions using Java, microservices, APIs, cloud platforms, and data technologies.
• Establish and drive engineering best practices across the team, including CI/CD, automated testing, observability, and security.
