Job summary

Sigmar Recruitment is seeking an Engineering Manager for a leading manufacturing company in Galway. You will lead and develop a multidisciplinary team of engineers, technicians, and contractors, driving high performance and accountability to deliver reliable operations.

You will oversee maintenance programs, drive OEE improvements, manage GMP and audit compliance, and push capital projects from planning through execution.

Qualifications

  • Relevant third-level qualification in Engineering, Manufacturing, Maintenance, or related field.
  • Minimum four years of experience in an engineering management role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum eight years in an engineering position.
  • Proven track record of managing teams, maintenance systems, contractors, and engineering projects.
  • Strong knowledge of GMP standards, plant maintenance, equipment reliability, and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a team of engineers, technicians, and external contractors, fostering a high-performance, accountable culture.
  • Oversee preventative and predictive maintenance schedules to ensure equipment reliability and minimize costly production downtime.
  • Effectively manage the maintenance system, including job lists, GMP issues, and engineering actions from internal and external audits.
  • Deliver plant improvement and capital projects aligned with business priorities, from planning through to execution.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, food hygiene, environmental, BRC, and customer audit requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize OEE, plant reliability, and maintenance processes.
  • Collaborate closely with R&D, Quality, Supply Chain, and Operations teams to support overall operational excellence.

About Your New Job
