Job summary

Sigmar Recruitment is seeking an Interim Head of Engineering for a well-established manufacturer in Ireland. You will lead the site engineering function including maintenance, utilities, calibration, facilities, projects and automation, developing an engineering strategy aligned with compliance, safety and growth.

You will build high-performing teams, drive continuous improvement and digitalisation, oversee all CAPEX projects, ensure on-time and on-budget delivery and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• 10+ years’ experience in senior engineering leadership within a GMP or strictly regulated manufacturing environment.
• Deep knowledge of regulatory expectations (GMP, HPRA/FDA or similar).
• Delivery of maintenance strategy, reliability improvements, and capital projects.
• Strategic thinking with strong people leadership and stakeholder management.

About Your New Job

As Head of Engineering,youwill:

What Skills You Need

• Degree in Engineering or related discipline.
• 10+ years’ experience in senior engineering leadership within a GMP or strictly regulated manufacturing environment.
• Deep knowledge of regulatory expectations (GMP, HPRA/FDA or similar).
• Demonstrated delivery of maintenance strategy, reliability improvements, and capital projects.
• Strategic thinking, strong people leadership, and stakeholder management.

Desirable:

• Master’s degree / Chartered Engineer.
• Lean, Six Sigma, digitalisation or automation exposure.
