Job summary

ManpowerGroup in Athy, Ireland is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead and develop the engineering function within a global organisation. You will own the engineering agenda on site and collaborate with the site management team to deliver value.

The role focuses on leading the engineering team, driving reliability, managing CAPEX, and delivering continuous improvement across maintenance, safety, and compliance. Strong people-management skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Strong people and performance management experience.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and develop the Engineering team.
• Oversee day-to-day engineering and maintenance activities.
• Drive plant reliability, performance and continuous improvement.
• Lead engineering, CAPEX and improvement projects.
• Improve OEE and identify opportunities to enhance plant performance.

Are you an experienced Engineering professional with strong people-management skills and the ability to lead, motivate and develop a team?

We’re recruiting an Engineering Manager to join a well-established, global organisation in Athy, taking ownership of the engineering function and playing a key role within the site management team.

What you’ll be doing:

• Leading, motivating and developing the Engineering team
• Managing day-to-day engineering and maintenance activities
• Driving plant reliability, performance and continuous improvement
• Leading engineering, CAPEX and improvement projects
• Improving OEE and identifying opportunities to enhance plant performance
• Ensuring engineering, safety and compliance standards are maintained
• Managing contractors, budgets and engineering resources

What we’re looking for:

• Degree or equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
• Proven people and performance management experience
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Experience managing engineering projects and driving improvement
• Manufacturing experience is advantageous, but not essential
