Job summary

HERO Recruitment supports a leading high-tech manufacturing organisation in appointing a Process Engineering Manager to lead the site's Process & Test Engineering. The role is a senior engineering leadership position responsible for shaping the site’s industrial strategy and deploying automation, robotics and high-speed manufacturing technologies.

Qualifications

  • Degree-qualified Engineer with manufacturing/industrial/automation background.
  • Minimum 5 years' relevant engineering experience in high-volume high-tech manufacturing.
  • Proven experience leading Process or Industrial Engineering teams.
  • Strong experience with robotics and automation.
  • Experience with capital investment planning and budgets.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and strategic thinking.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the Process & Test Engineering function, providing technical and strategic direction.
  • Define and implement the site’s long-term industrial and manufacturing strategy.
  • Drive the adoption and optimisation of automation, robotics and advanced manufacturing technologies.
  • Lead the industrialisation of new products and processes from development through to production.
  • Manage complex manufacturing engineering projects, including the deployment, commissioning and optimisation of automated and robotic systems.
  • Develop and manage the site’s capital investment and industrial expenditure programme.
  • Monitor equipment and manufacturing performance, driving continuous improvement, efficiency and asset utilisation.
  • Ensure high standards of process performance, quality, compliance and operational excellence.
  • Lead standardisation initiatives across products, processes, equipment and manufacturing technologies.
  • Work closely with engineering, operations, product and global manufacturing functions.
  • Support production ramp-up, industrialisation and complex process challenges.
  • Develop engineering capability and promote a culture of innovation, continuous improvement and operational excellence.

We are supporting a leading high-tech manufacturing organisation in the appointment of a Process Engineering Manager to lead the site’s Process & Test Engineering function.

This is a senior engineering leadership role with responsibility for shaping the site’s long-term industrial strategy, driving advanced manufacturing capability and leading the deployment of automation, robotics and high-speed precision manufacturing technologies.

The successful candidate will combine strong technical expertise with proven people leadership, industrialisation and capital investment experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop the Process & Test Engineering function, providing technical and strategic direction.
  • Define and implement the site’s long-term industrial and manufacturing strategy.
  • Drive the adoption and optimisation of automation, robotics and advanced manufacturing technologies.

Ideal Candidate Profile
  • Degree-qualified Engineer with a background in manufacturing, industrial, mechanical, electrical or automation engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years' relevant engineering experience, ideally within high-volume high-tech manufacturing.
  • Proven experience leading Process, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering teams.
  • Strong experience with robotics, automation and advanced manufacturing technologies.
  • Demonstrated experience in industrialisation, manufacturing engineering and production ramp-up.
  • Experience with capital investment planning, equipment selection and industrial budgets.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing performance, productivity and continuous improvement.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence across site and global functions.
  • Strategic and commercially aware, with the ability to translate long-term manufacturing objectives into practical initiatives.
